Factors affecting patient safety culture in terms of compliance with preventing bloodborne pathogens among general hospital nurses

Abstract Background The present study aims to investigate the relationship between patient safety culture and prevention of transmitting bloodborne pathogens among nurses at a general hospital. Methods participants were 284 working hospital located in city, data collected April 26 May 15, 2019. Questionnaires on used, SPSS version 22.0 was used for descriptive hierarchical regression analysis. Results results showed that following factors affected pathogens: experience with needle stick sharps injuries (β = − 0.94), teamwork 0.41), knowledge attitude toward 0.34), leadership 0.15), priority 0.14). model’s explanatory power 53% ( F 32.26, p =< 0.001). Conclusions To increase compliance practices promote pathogens, it is necessary actively prevent sticks injuries. It also prioritize develop verify effects various programs emphasize culture, such as leadership, teamwork, knowledge, attitude.
